The FARA Norma C. Beaubien Public Safety Award is the highest honor FARA gives to deserving individuals who work in public safety. Each year individuals are selected who demonstrate a significant commitment and contributions to their department, the community they serve and FARA. Recipients are selected by the past recipients.
Vincent (Vinnie) Farraris, Alarm Program Coordinator, Portland Oregon received the 2021 Norma C. Beaubien Public Safety Member of the Year Award at the FARA Annual Meeting.
Vinnie was selected for his efforts in Portland and his willingness to help other agencies tackle false alarms. He has improved the effectiveness of his alarm ordinance and built coalitions with many agencies to regulate Cannabis. He has shared his expertise at several FARA International Symposiums and Chapter Meetings. He has coordinated meetings with local agencies in the Portland area and maintained a constructive relationship with the local alarm industry.
