A new report looked at FBI crime data to determine the top 10 cities with the most and least property crime.
The website Reviews.org has released its 2019 ranking of U.S. cities with the most and least property crime.
To rank each city, Reviews.org looked at FBI property crime data from 2017. The FBI defines property crime as burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft.
The website says it didn’t include motor vehicle theft in order to focus on the safest and most dangerous cities to own houses, as well as rental, vacation and investment properties. It also only looked at cities with a population above 100,000.
You can read more about the details of the report and its methodology here.

If you want to find the “ultimate safest area” of the U.S., you can compare these stats to WalletHub’s safest and most dangerous states, and safest and most dangerous cities.
The two areas that appear on the most dangerous list in all three reports are Missouri and Louisiana, specifically the cities of St. Louis and Baton Rouge. So you might want to be extra cautious when visiting these areas, or invest in proper security measures if you live there.
