State Representative Justin Humphrey led a forum on Friday about how to adopt a computer system that could link law enforcement agencies across the state.
State Representative Justin Humphrey led a forum on Friday about how to adopt a computer system that could link law enforcement agencies across the state.
“Wouldn’t it be interesting if we could make a computer program where every report every incident that they got called out on got reported and then it would collect that data,” Humphrey said.
If adopted, the system would include more data on people who commit crimes and streamline how it is used.
“It’s critical to grow your program as you do and that’s one of the things with Kyle and working with this system is that we’ve been able to add,” said Kari Hogan, Deputy CEO of PPEP Inc. “Not only does it upload, it shoots everything to the federal government and those reports.”
Leaders say that data management is crucial in the criminal justice system in order to identify where, how and why crimes are occurring, and most importantly, how to fix the problems.
The end goal is to help the people of Oklahoma.
“Our goal was to deliver a program that would enhance the skills and abilities of individuals and help them in job skills and career pathways,” said Hogan.
The system would include monthly audits to help officers determine where to focus more attention.
