Oklahoma City police warn business owners of the rising robbery crime trend.

A crime trend is now on the rise in the metro. Business robberies are becoming more common and Oklahoma City police said business owners need to be aware.

OKC police said it’s a PSA for all business owners. Robberies are on the rise again and they want to ensure the safety of employees and customers alike.

“I’ll always recommend you take as many steps as you deem necessary to keep yourself business safe,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk of the OCPD.

There are steps for certain situations to be avoided.

“He threw the duct tape to my assistant manager, he shot the ground immediately almost after to let him know that he wasn’t playing around,” said Zachary Seresimhe, a general manager at a dispensary.

The owner of The Greens at Central Oklahoma, Juan Torres, also spoke to KOCO 5.
