NEW APPLICATION FORMAT FOR SECURITY SYSTEM AGENCY LICENSES, SECURITY SYSTEM TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATIONS, SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS, AND RAILROAD POLICE APPOINTMENTS
In our commitment to provide better service to the public and private sectors of Maryland, the Maryland Department of State Police Licensing Division has developed and implemented new applications.
As of August 24, 2021, the licensing division applications for Security System Agencies, Security System Technicians, Special Police Commissions, and Railroad Police Appointments have been updated and revised. The new applications require and specify certain documentation to be submitted with the application packet.
Effective October 1, 2021, the Maryland State Police Licensing Division will no longer accept applications in the previous format. Applications submitted in the previous version will be returned. If late fees are incurred or a license/certification expires, the applicant or agency shall submit the appropriate application, documentation, and any late fees that are incurred. Please take this time to make any adjustments to your company policy in reference to submission of the correct application and documents.
Please direct any questions with regard to Security Systems Agency Licenses and Security System Technician Certification, Special Police Commissions, and Railroad Police Appointments to Sergeant Edwin Bowers, Supervisor, Police and Security Systems Unit, at edwin.bowers@maryland.gov..
