Mississippi will be getting more than $4 billion from the federal infrastructure package recently passed by Congress.

The White House has released a preliminary breakdown of how that money will be spent in Mississippi over the next five years.

Though, it’s still unclear which state or local entities will be getting the funds, most of it will be coming in the form of grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

$3.3 billion will be going to roads and bridges. Another $429 million will be invested in water lines and pipes.

Public transportation will be getting $223 million and high-speed internet, $100 million. Finally, another $51 million will be invested in boosting the amount of electric car chargers across the state.
