The Office of the Maryland Comptroller will host a series of free webinars at the end of May to help businesses, tax professionals and technology companies understand significant tax changes enacted in the 2025 Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act. These changes, which take effect in the 2025 tax year, include new requirements such as the “tech tax” and other updates that could impact business operations and planning.

The webinars are tailored to different audiences:

  • The Tech Industry 2025 Tax Changes Webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 28, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Two sessions for Business Owners 2025 Tax Changes are scheduled for Thursday, May 29, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tax Professionals 2025 Tax Changes Webinar will take place on Friday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Space for the live webinars is limited, but recordings will be posted online for those unable to attend in real time.

The Comptroller’s Office encourages early registration to secure a spot and recommends that business owners and professionals review updated guidance and resources. The webinars are part of a broader effort to ensure Marylanders are informed and prepared for the upcoming tax changes.
