12.12.24 – Fall River, Mass. (Gray News)

A Massachusetts man has been arrested after getting stuck in a chimney while trying to hide from police.

According to the Fall River Police Department, officers were executing a search warrant at a home on Canal Street Tuesday night when two men attempted to escape them by getting onto the roof.

Police said one of the men jumped from the roof and onto a parked vehicle, while the other – later identified as 33-year-old Robert Langlais – climbed into the home’s chimney.

Langlais ended up getting stuck in the chimney and first responders had to rescue him before he was taken into custody.

Authorities said Langlais was taken to an area hospital as a precaution for medical treatment after his Santa-like “antics.” He was cleared and then booked on drug and warrant charges.

Tanisha Ibay, 32, was also arrested at the property and charged with possession of drugs.

Police said they are continuing to search for the second man
