Louisiana State Police want people to send tips as it is closely monitoring possible threats made to schools.
The agency said it is not aware of any credible threats made to Louisiana schools but is monitoring tips, leads and information sources while working with federal, state and local partners to investigate.
LSP cited state law that says it is illegal to make false threats against schools.
“Under Louisiana law, the intentional communication of false information regarding the existence of a bomb or other explosive device, or threats of violence against any person or property, is a felony crime. Individuals found guilty of making false threats can face up to 15 years in prison and significant fines,” according to a news release from LSP.FBI tip leads to Louisiana teen boy arrested, charged with terrorizing
