LANGHORNE, Pa. — Lifeshield announces John Owens will immediately assume the role of CEO, while LifeShield investor and outgoing CEO Mike Hagan will continue in his role as chairman.
Owens previously served as chief marketing officer with financial services firm, J.G. Wentworth. He was also head of marketing for ING DIRECT and then became managing vice president of bank marketing for Capital One after the company acquired ING DIRECT.
“I’m energized by the opportunity to join LifeShield at such an exciting time in its lifecycle,” says Owens. “The home security industry is dynamic and growing and I’m humbled by the opportunity to lead a very accomplished group of professionals. Many of LifeShield’s early employees have returned to the company since Mike and Hawk Capital re-acquired the business. That’s a testament to the team’s passion for the brand and a great foundation for growth.”
Lifeshield Now Offers Professional Installation Services
The company also announces it has expanded its partnership with MasTec Advanced Technologies to offer professional installation services to its customers. MasTec previously served as LifeShield’s installation partner when LifeShield was part of DIRECTV.
“Following the recent launch of LifeShield’s automation services, our expanded partnership with MasTec will provide a turnkey solution for our customers who prefer a high touch, white-glove installation experience,” says Owens. “As consumer interest in new home security and automation capabilities grows, LifeShield is set up for success by offering the option of professional installation from a proven, recognized, service industry leader.”
In 2017, MasTec completed three million customer appointments, deploying a network of over 4,000 technicians, according to the company. They say their team of expert technicians pride themselves on helping homeowners install security, video and home automation solutions that fit the needs of their home.
