Joyce M. Hausler, 70, passed away in Midlothian, VA on December 29, 2022.
She spent 40 years in the alarm monitoring business and was active in crime prevention, law enforcement and community organizations.
Joyce was active in the False Alarm Reduction Association and served on the board of the Mid Atlantic Chapter. She was awarded the W. Rex Bell Associate Member of the Year Award in 2020 in recognition of her years of support of FARA and false alarm reduction.
Joyce worked in the alarm industry for Richmond Virginia companies including Dictograph & Richmond Alarm. She moved on to work for New Jersey based central stations including: Holmes Protection, King Central, CMS, and most recently COPS Monitoring.
Joyce was a consistently positive person who always had a smile on her face. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
“Joyce was such a light to all of us, on top of her involvement with FARA and bridging the gap between public safety and industry. We should honor her for the many things she has done for FARA/MDBFAA over the years.
Maureen Tonczyczyn, Vice President – FARA Eastern Chapter.
“I have had the pleasure to work with hundreds of volunteers over the past 48 years, but few have the drive and dedication to bring public safety and industry together that Joyce had. She kept at it despite the difficulties and she helped many in both camps see the virtues of the others perspective. She recognized the benefits of common effort thru associations. FARA & MDBFAA are stronger from her efforts.”
Brad Shipp, FARA & MDBFAA
