The punch-clock starts ticking as soon as workers are required to report for duty, to an employer’s premises or to a prescribed workplace, the Court of Appeals said in its 7-0 ruling, filed July 13.

The decision makes clear that Maryland workers have compensation rights beyond what is required under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
