Governor John Bel Edwards is extending the Phase 2 restrictions on Louisiana for another 21 days. Edwards made the announcement on August 4 during a COVID-19 press conference.

The governor says that Louisiana has been moving in the right direction, but… “It’s too early to say we have changed the trajectory in a way that will stay.”

Edwards issued a PSA to people 29 and younger, who, on average, make up around 30% or more of the new cases daily, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
