Four deserving individuals received FARA’s highest awards at last weeks Symposium from President Alberto Hook.
Tess Boehm
Tess has been employed in public safety for many years and knows how to get things done. With respect to the false alarm side of things, she has no problem taking on tasks and seeing them through until the end. She is very good a delegating responsibility to the appropriate parties on their team whether they know they are involved or not. In a short time, they have made a great impact in FARA. She is constantly looking to learn from fellow FARA members, getting ideas on how to better their alarm ordinance. She has been a presenter at FARA events in person and virtually and they participate on FARA committees. Just to name a few.
Tess gets excited when the details fall into place and loves to see a plan come together. She goes above and beyond in all her responsibilities. She motivates and inspires people around them even when they are not trying.
Outside of her false alarm role, she is very dedicated to wellness and energy. She always has a solution to any of your ills or ailments. Organizing events is definitely, one of their main strengths.

Maureen Tonczyczyn
Maureen has been employed in public safety in a few different roles for many years. With respect to the false alarm side of things, she has taken the bull by the horns and worked hard to become a subject matter expert. She has assisted in making changes to her alarm program’s processes, been a presenter at FARA events in person and virtually and has participated on FARA committees. Just to name a few. She is also very involved in their local FARA Chapter as well, dedicating many hours of her personal time.
Maureen has a lot of compassion for her job and the people she works with. She is always willing to offer her assistance to anyone in need. She goes above and beyond in all her responsibilities. I was able to contact people who work with this person, and these are some of the things they had to say:
“When Maureen commits to something, they are 100%, all in! She will research and network and put all the effort they can into her task, until they are the subject matter expert. Also, she is fully open to sharing their knowledge and training others. She loves to see their teammates and coworkers succeed; she sees it as a team win! She encourages others to also strive to reach their highest potential, she is always cheering others on and helping when needed. She is always available for questions, and if she don’t know the answer, she will find it somehow!
Outside of their false alarm role, Maureen is very dedicated to their family and community. She is married and has two amazing children.
Maureen started in her position wondering if it would be the same as where they came from before joining their current role. I hope I was able to convince them otherwise. It is my honor to present the Norma C. Beaubien Public Safety Award to Maureen Tonczyczyn from Montgomery County Police Department.
Amanda Hayden
Amanda has been employed in industry for many years and has held various positions within their career. With respect to the false alarm side of things, she has always been a proponent of assisting public safety reduce false alarms. She made it a personal mission to ensure that her company had the lowest false alarm issues of any company in the industry, and they did so for a very long time. She has assisted in making changes in her company which have had profound impacts on many police jurisdictions and she is always willing to work with the jurisdictions to solve issues. She has been a presenter at FARA events in person and virtually and has served as a co-chair of the FARA Communications Committee. Just to name a few.
Amanda has a lot of compassion for her job and the people she works with. She is heavily involved in processes that have positive impacts on public safety. She goes above and beyond in all her responsibilities.

Amanda is amazing to work with. In her role, she is so responsive, thorough, and always willing to jump into any project and pull up her sleeves. If you present her with a problem, they get back to you with a solution quickly. She has the utmost professionalism at all times.
Outside of their false alarm role, Amanda is very dedicated to her family. She is married and has two amazing children. She has a passion for animals, especially horses. Which is fitting as she has a college degree with a specialization in equine studies. It is my honor to present the W. Rex Bell Associate Member Award to Amanda Hayden from Rapid Response Monitoring.
Rachel Ward
Rachel has been employed in industry for short period of time, but she has made an impact almost immediately. With respect to the false alarm side of things, she has always been a proponent of assisting public safety reduce false alarms. She is always willing to work with the jurisdictions to solve issues and she serves as a co-chair of the FARA Communications Committee. She is always willing to take the lead when necessary. Just to name a few.
Rachel is part of the team that is heavily involved in processes that have positive impacts on public safety. She goes above and beyond in her responsibilities.
