A burglary call turned into a drug bust in St. Tammany Parish, after deputies responding to a reported break-in stumbled upon an unintentional bonus find: a house full of illegal drugs.

Deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office say they were called to the 76000 block of Spring Street for a reported residential burglary. But while investigating, deputies say they saw narcotics. 

During a search of the home, authorities found:

  • 250 grams of marijuana
  • 24 fentanyl pills
  • Fentanyl patches
  • Various prescription pills
  • A Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun with ammo
  • Drug paraphernalia

The man who lives there, Clifton Moore, was arrested and booked into jail on a list of charges, including:

  • Possession with intent to distribute marijuana, fentanyl, Suboxone, and other controlled substances
  • Illegal carrying of a weapon with drugs
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • 12 counts for illegal possession of legend drugs

Deputies say the investigation into the original burglary is still ongoing.
