A black lab named Bear pulled the alarm in an attempt to signal to his owner that he was ready to leave the groomers.
CARMEL, Ind. — Firefighters in Carmel got an unexpected surprise when they responded to a fire alarm Saturday morning.
According to a social media post by the Carmel Fire Department, on the morning of May 4, firefighters were dispatched to Canine Cloud Nine, a pet groomer located at 885 Monon Green Boulevard, on a report of a pulled fire alarm.
When firefighters arrived, the workers at the pet store told firefighters that there was no fire and that a dog who was “ready to leave” pulled the alarm.
The culprit was identified as a black lab named “Bear.” Firefighters explained to Bear and the other dogs in a tongue-in-cheek way the dangers of pulling the fire alarm when there is no real emergency.
Firefighters were able to play with the dogs while they waited for building maintenance to come and shut off the alarm.
