A man in L.A. found a naked intruder in his home last week, and the guy had eaten ice cream sandwiches, veggie burgers, and chewed 60 pieces of gum in one big wad and spit it out.

A Shocking Discovery in the Bedroom

An Echo Park man received a terrifying surprise over Mother’s Day weekend when he found a naked stranger asleep in his bed. Michael Duarte, a local sports writer, returned home late Saturday night to find his house had been broken into, trashed, and his personal space violated in a bizarre and unsettling way.

“At first, I thought an animal got in and tore up the place,” Duarte said. But the truth was far more disturbing.

Broken Glass, Burgers, and Bubble Gum

The intruder gained access to the home by smashing the glass of Duarte’s back door. Once inside, the man made himself more than comfortable—he raided the kitchen, scattering food and items throughout the home.

The unknown man consumed a box of ice cream sandwiches, a package of Beyond Beef patties, and chewed through an entire 60-piece pack of gum—spitting it out in one massive softball-sized wad. He also stuffed towels into the toilet, clogging it, and shockingly, killed a possum on the back patio using a decorative statue.

It was like something out of a strange dream—or a nightmare,” Duarte recalled.

Arrest and Threats

Once Duarte realized someone was in his bed—completely nude—he immediately had a friend call the police. Officers arrived quickly, dressed the man, and placed him under arrest. As he was being led away in handcuffs, the man reportedly threatened Duarte and the officers, shouting, “I’m going to kill you!”

Neighbors were rattled by the incident. “It makes you question your safety,” said Lindsey Savino, a resident of the area. “This was way too close to home.”
Police have not released the suspect’s identity. The investigation is ongoing.
