Alberto Hook

Dear FARA Member:

My name is Alberto Hook. I am your False Alarm Reduction Association (FARA) international president. We are a dynamic community of over 400 members from across the US and Canada, focused on being your go-to professional resource for all your false alarm reduction needs. This is only possible because of our dedicated volunteer leaders, a strong group of sponsors, and our great volunteer members heading up different committees and chapters.

Volunteers are key to the success of our association. That’s why I am reaching out today. Every month, members of the association participate in committee and/or chapter meetings or give suggestions to leadership on a variety of topics.

If you are not involved – you are not getting the full value of your membership.

I would like you to get involved and participate in your association. You can get involved by joining a committee or participating in your local chapter.

Regardless of your experience and expertise, I am confident that you will add value to the association. Because I have learned a lot and gained many friends thru my involvement, I know that you will too.   Your attendance and participation will add to the diversity and strength that makes FARA effective.

The association has three committees FARA members may join – The Training/Symposium Committee, the Communications Committee, and the Marketing/Membership Committee. Anyone can participate because all meet virtually, no travel is required, and it will take less than 2 hours a month.

The Training/Symposium Committee and the Marketing/Membership Committee meet once a month for about an hour. The Communications Committee meets every other month for about an hour and a half. Together, committee members tackle projects to add value to our members.

Chapters meet quarterly for one to two hours to promote communication about topics that impact both public safety and industry in your specific region.

Chapter boards meet between meetings to prepare for the quarterly meetings.

All FARA’s work is focused on enriching your experience as members, so we are always open to feedback on our current service and how we can better serve you. Feel free to reach out to me, any of our chapter leaders, or our great committee chairs if you have ideas or would like to get involved.

Best Regards,

Alberto Hook
