An alarm company has recognized the efforts of DeSoto Parish sheriff’s deputies who thwarted the theft of a high-dollar muscle car from a Stonewall car dealership.

“Within six minutes, DPSO deputies apprehended two men who confessed their intent to steal a Hellcat that had been delivered earlier that same day,” Guardian Alarm Systems said in a social media post.

The attempted theft happened on March 9 at Marketplace Chevrolet off Interstate 49. The dealership’s alarm system notified the DeSoto Parish sheriff’s dispatch about a suspicious person on the parking lot.

Dispatchers called nearby deputies who got there in 5 minutes. The first suspected thief was caught after a brief chase. He had items with him that deputies said could be used in the process of stealing cars from dealership lots.

Other deputies arrived and found a second man walking down state Highway 3276. He was identified as an accomplice to the one they had in custody.

Darrie Deunte Mills, 33, of Mesquite, Texas, and Quintice Todd Victorian, 36, of Rockwall, Texas, were booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on charges of criminal conspiracy and theft of a motor vehicle.

Guardian Alarm Systems presented certificates of appreciation to the responding deputies. And Sheriff Jayson Richardson added his appreciation to dispatcher Tonya Walker for her swift actions in taking and dispatching the call, leading to the two arrests.
