ADT will use West Corp.’s emergency response link to ensure homes and businesses monitored by ADT benefit from the most accurate location data available.

12.19.18 – SSI – BOCA RATON, Fla.

ADT (NYSE: ADT) and West Corp., a global leader in technology-enabled services, announced they have entered into an agreement to enhance customer experiences with 911 emergency communications.

ADT will use West Corp.’s emergency response link (ERL) to help ensure homes and businesses monitored by the company benefit from the most accurate location data available so that the correct response teams are deployed even faster.

The collaboration is said to result in more than seven million customers receiving enhanced emergency response.

“For ADT, the safety and security of our customers is personal,” says Don Young, CIO and executive vice president, field operations, ADT. “Given West’s long-standing reputation as a leader in the public safety space, its ERL platform is a natural choice to help ensure we are engaging the appropriate emergency teams and minimizing response times in the case of an alarm.”

Young continues, “West’s data offers advanced capabilities by mapping customers to emergency responders by location in ways that most alarm companies cannot do in-house. Using ERL enables ADT to shift our resources from maintaining an internal database of this information to what matters most – providing the enhanced monitoring services our customers rely on to help keep them safe.”

Ron Beaumont, president of Safety Services at West Corp., explains the company’s solutions are designed to improve the speed and accuracy of data delivery that supports public safety.

The announcement states that West rigorously researches, audits, verifies and manages Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) contact data based on the most current jurisdictional boundaries. The data is then integrated into the alarm provider’s internal systems, helping them route every emergency alarm to the appropriate emergency teams with speed and confidence, according to the company.

The integration of ERL marks the first of several planned collaborations between ADT and West to enrich ADT’s monitoring services by leveraging West Corp.’s technology and data quality.
