    9.15.20 – Leavenworth Times – The city of Leavenworth has entered into an agreement for a service that is designed to help with keeping inspections of fire safety systems up to date. Leavenworth Fire Chief Gary Birch said there are commercial buildings in the city that are required by code to have fire alarms or other fire safety systems.
  • MD: Annapolis City Council approves legislation for false alarm rules…
    9.15.20 – Capital Gazette – Buckley introduced an ordinance that says any property owner or tenant with more than two false alarms in one year is guilty of a municipal infraction and subject to a fine. False alarms are emergency communications such as an alarm system alert that results in a city fire or police department investigation that reveals “no health or safety risk or other actual hazard,” according to City Code.
  • OH: Streetsboro places liens on two hotels for unpaid false alarm …
    9.17.20 – Record Courier – Streetsboro is taking steps to recover thousands of dollars in unpaid fines levied against two hotels that have had multiple false fire alarms from customers smoking in their rooms. … This issue started when the hotels began designating smoking rooms.
