- Tenn. dispatchers handled 3,000 calls during Helene
10.27.24 – WBIR-TV (Knoxville, Tenn.) – During Hurricane Helene, 15 dispatchers in Greene County, Tenn., responded to 3,000 9-1-1 calls in 48 hours. The dispatchers fought exhaustion while working overtime as they tried to calm callers and direct first responders to their site.
