Snowmass homeowners must register alarm systems with police department starting in 2024

Homeowners in Snowmass Village with security systems that are designed to call the local police department must apply for a new permit or face a $250 fine each time the police are called to their home.

Greensboro couple accused of calling 911 thousands of times, costs Guilford County millions

Michael and Laura Haithcock of Greensboro, N.C., have called 9-1-1 6,200 times since 2004, costing taxpayers $2 million, and now each faces four counts of misusing the 9-1-1 system. The county is working with local agencies to create an adult welfare team to identify people who may need nonemergency assistance.

Burglar asks victim’s brother for ride to sell his stolen merchandise

Police said a burglar who stole a video game console called the victim’s brother for a ride to a store where he sold the stolen merchandise.
