Artificial Intelligence in 9-1-1 Communications Center

Technology continues to grow rapidly in all industries, including policing. Facial recognition, license plate readers, predictive policing, gunshot detection systems, early warning systems in training databases, biometrics and so many others are used regularly by many police agencies. Artificial intelligence is finding a home in 911 and public safety communications centers.

False alarms a time killer for first responders

Numerous false alarms come in every month from businesses, houses and apartments and local fire chiefs want something more done to punish those responsible for what is considered a waste of resources. Now an ordinance is being considered to crack down on repeat offenders.

Missouri police search for ‘home intruder,’ find pesky rodent instead

Police in Liberty, Missouri, responded to a home alarm but found a squirrel that surprised officers as they were searching the residence.
