False alarms a time killer for first responders

Numerous false alarms come in every month from businesses, houses and apartments and local fire chiefs want something more done to punish those responsible for what is considered a waste of resources. Now an ordinance is being considered to crack down on repeat offenders.

Vallejo residents discuss new police plan to stop responding to many alarm calls

Under the proposed plan, police would respond only to verified calls that come from witnesses, manually activated panic alarms, silent robbery alarms, and video alarms that show crimes in progress. "We are not suggesting we don't go to flat alarms at all.
