Liberty Hill Police Department to start penalizing businesses for multiple false alarm calls

Due to ongoing incidents of business alarm systems going off and alerting the Liberty Hill Police Department when there was no actual threat, Police Chief Royce Graeter made the decision to start handing out penalties for multiple offenses.

Editorial: To respond better to burglaries, the police need to respond to fewer burglar alarms

Under the new policy, instead of sending officers to visit each alarm, dispatchers will instead wait until the alert is verified — either through the relevant security agency, through secondary alarms, or through another person. Some systems, like medical alerts or human-activated alarms, will remain priority calls no matter what.

A suspect left behind a bizarre note during a burglary at a San Fernando business that police say was one of several businesses targeted in a recent crime spree.
